- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for patients seeking weight loss treatment.
- Collaborate with the bariatric surgery program to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide ongoing support and counseling for patients throughout their weight loss journey.
- Utilize evidence-based therapies to address psychological barriers to weight loss.
- Monitor and track patients' progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients on healthy coping strategies and stress management techniques.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Stay current on research and developments in the field of weight loss psychology.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of program protocols and procedures.
- Provide support and guidance to other members of the weight loss team.
- Act as an advocate for patients and promote their overall well-being.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care.
- Participate in community outreach and education initiatives related to weight loss and mental health.
- Continuously evaluate and improve upon the psychological support services offered to weight loss patients.
Doctoral Degree In Psychology, Preferably With A Specialization In Bariatrics Or Weight Loss.
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Psychologist, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities For Bariatric/Weight Loss Patients, Such As Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, And Mindfulness-Based Techniques.
Familiarity With The Medical And Psychological Complexities Of Obesity And Weight Management, Including Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders And Chronic Health Conditions.
Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Compassionate And Effective Care To Patients.
