Job Description

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as an Associate Pharmacy Technician at Providence St. Joseph Health. In this role, you will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals to assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications to our patients. We are looking for individuals who are committed, compassionate, and possess a Pharmacy Technician Certification or are willing to obtain one within the first 12 months of employment.   1. Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications to patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  2. Ensure accuracy and proper labeling of all medications by carefully following established procedures.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including properly storing and handling medications.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members to provide exceptional service and address any concerns or questions.
  5. Maintain patient records and prescription information accurately and confidentially.
  6. Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure timely and efficient medication delivery to patients.
  7. Participate in inventory management and ordering of medications and supplies.
  8. Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations, including maintaining proper documentation and following proper procedures for controlled substances.
  9. Continuously expand and update knowledge of pharmaceutical products, procedures, and regulations through training and education opportunities.
  10. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a compassionate attitude towards patients, families, and coworkers.
  11. Comply with company policies and procedures and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
  12. Obtain and maintain a Pharmacy Technician Certification within the first 12 months of employment, if not already certified.

This Experience Shows That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations And Can Quickly Adapt To The Job Requirements.

Therefore, Candidates Must Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Ensure Accurate Information Is Conveyed And Received.

  • Attention To Detail: The Role Of A Pharmacy Technician Requires A High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail. Candidates Must Be Able To Accurately Read And Interpret Prescription Orders, Measure And Dispense Medications, And Maintain Detailed Records. Attention To Detail Is Crucial In Ensuring Patient Safety And Preventing Medication Errors.
