Associate Pharmacy Technician

- Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications to patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Ensure accuracy and proper labeling of all medications by carefully following established procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including properly storing and handling medications.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members to provide exceptional service and address any concerns or questions.
- Maintain patient records and prescription information accurately and confidentially.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure timely and efficient medication delivery to patients.
- Participate in inventory management and ordering of medications and supplies.
- Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations, including maintaining proper documentation and following proper procedures for controlled substances.
- Continuously expand and update knowledge of pharmaceutical products, procedures, and regulations through training and education opportunities.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a compassionate attitude towards patients, families, and coworkers.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
- Obtain and maintain a Pharmacy Technician Certification within the first 12 months of employment, if not already certified.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For An Associate Pharmacy Technician At Providence St. Joseph Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Handle The Responsibilities Of The Job.
Pharmacy Technician Certification: Candidates Must Be Certified As A Pharmacy Technician In The State Of Employment. This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge And Skills In Pharmacy-Related Tasks And Ensures That They Are Up-To-Date With The Latest Industry Standards And Regulations.
Prior Experience In A Pharmacy Setting: Candidates With Prior Experience Working In A Pharmacy Setting, Either In A Retail Or Hospital Environment, Will Be Preferred For This Role. This Experience Shows That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations And Can Quickly Adapt To The Job Requirements.
