
Associate Histotechnologist

Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare tissue samples for analysis and examination by pathologists, following established protocols and procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
- Utilize a variety of techniques and stains to properly prepare tissue samples for analysis.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all procedures, tests, and results.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of samples.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Adhere to all safety and quality control protocols to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Continuously monitor and troubleshoot laboratory procedures and equipment to ensure quality standards are met.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing new procedures and protocols.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results.
- Stay current on new and emerging technologies and techniques in histotechnology and incorporate them into laboratory practices as appropriate.
- Comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including CLIA and CAP regulations.
- Demonstrates a commitment to Providence St. Joseph Health's mission, vision, and values in all interactions and work responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or Related Field
Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Or Histotechnologist (Htl) By The Ascp
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting
Strong Knowledge Of Histological Techniques, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, Sectioning, And Staining
Familiarity With Laboratory Information Systems And Ability To Troubleshoot Technical Issues.
