Welcome to Providence St. Joseph Health! We are seeking a compassionate and driven Assistant Nurse Manager to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. In this role, you will support the Nurse Manager in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the NICU, while providing exceptional patient care to our tiniest and most vulnerable patients.   1. Provide leadership and guidance to the NICU team in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
  2. Ensure that all clinical practices in the NICU are in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  3. Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop and implement strategies for improving patient care and outcomes in the NICU.
  4. Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new NICU staff members.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the performance of NICU staff, providing feedback and support as needed.
  6. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among the NICU team.
  7. Ensure that all equipment and supplies in the NICU are maintained and in good working condition.
  8. Implement and enforce infection control protocols to prevent the spread of illness in the NICU.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and work towards achieving departmental goals.
  11. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  12. Stay updated on current developments and best practices in neonatal care and share this knowledge with the NICU team.
  13. Serve as a role model for professionalism and ethical behavior in the workplace.
  14. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and standards of practice related to nursing and neonatal care.
  15. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to neonatal patients.
  16. Attend and actively participate in meetings and trainings as required.
  17. Communicate effectively with the Nurse Manager, providing updates on the unit's operations, staff performance, and patient care.
  18. Handle any conflicts or issues that may arise within the NICU team in a professional and timely manner.
  19. Assist in the development and management of the NICU budget.
  20. Continuously strive to enhance the quality of care provided in the NICU and identify areas for improvement.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field

  • Current Rn License In The State Of Employment

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Neonatal Nursing, With At Least 1-2 Years Of Leadership Experience

  • Bls And Nrp Certifications
