My name is Paige Barnett and I just recently graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors degree in Public Health. I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, and I am eager to serve individuals in my home community.

• Served as a DEI intern at North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System, the largest and most complex Veterans Affairs health system covering over 6,000 employees, 150,000 patients, with over 23 locations across two states.
• Utilized evidence-based research to design and develop DEI questionnaires for Veteran patients and health system employees to enable feedback on services, access to care/professional opportunities, and current DEI efforts. Embedded methods to score questionnaire and receive valid and reliable data.
• Researched, developed, and implemented New Employee Orientation presentation for education on health disparities, social determinants of health, and defining DEI within our health system. Presented presentation to groups of new employees (100+) in-person and virtually while answering questions generated from presentation.
• Researched and developed resource guide for Veterans based on data showing loneliness to be one of the most common social determinants of health for Veterans within health system. 
• Researched and developed resource guides for health system initiative to identify social determinants of health and provide resources the same day. These resource guides are given to Veterans and communicate which local resources are available to aid in areas such as housing instability, food insecurity, and ability to pay for medications.
• Recorded meeting minutes for performance improvement workgroup addressing health disparities in mental health utilization.
• Analyzed and drafted summary of data for all mental health quality metrics. Project consisted of analyzing over 50 quality measures in mental health and highlighting where disparities were present across categories of race, ethnicity, age, rurality, sex, gender identity, and sexuality. This analysis is used by the DEI Program Office and Mental Health Service Line to identify opportunities for improvement in health equity/disparities.

*   Assisted supervisor in the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) by communicating with community partners, organizing and assorting data, and preparing documentation.
*   Collaborated with team members to analyze community health needs and develop strategies for improvement.
