I assisted the Doctors and PA’s during their visits and maintained accurate records of patient care and procedures. I also mastered how to perform a biopsy, use lasers, remove sutures, and assist in the surgical removal of cancer. I learned how to counsel patients on various diagnoses and treatments and assisted in Mohs Surgery, including the use of skin grafts and lidocaine on patients.

Medical Assistant

I worked alongside the doctors and nurses learning how to scribe and interact with patients. I learned how to take all the primary vitals, perform hearing and vision tests, and screen patients or Covid-19. I learned the importance of PPE and other safety precautions due to the coronavirus and how to help manage patients during a pandemic

I mastered how to properly administer a nasal and oral test for the Covid-19 virus, while also learning how to collect data from patients and prepare the test kits. I participated in a high risk and pressured environment by being a part of the largest surveillance testing program in the state of Virginia. We collected data for analysis.

Tester

I maintained his safety throughout the day, organized daily activities, and supervised therapy sessions. I assist him with his behavior, speech pathology, schoolwork, and care for his medical needs

Personal Caregiver

I collaborated with research professors and graduate students in studying cardiomyopathy at a sub-cellular level. I experienced the BSL-3 state-of-the-art lab.
I established several cell lines and used super resolution microscopy to measure Cx43 changes during viral infection

Research Assistant

I was responsible for cleaning and editing ECG data for a study on the autonomic nervous system. I performed routine data entry tasks using the BioPac software.

I graduated with this distinction by earning Dean's list for many semesters.
