Special Education Teaching Licensure

Hi I'm interested in an Events Coordinator position. I have worked for a long time in Education as a Special Education Teacher and I'm looking to make a career change into Events Planning. I was inspired to change jobs when I planned my own Wedding Reception in a short period of time and it was a very successful and fun experience for the guests and the wedding party. Being a Teacher I gained excellent communication and organizational skills. I also learned how to manage assistants, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

I have a bachelor degree in Special Education.

·      Create, individualize curriculum for a level 3 DCD classroom.
·      Set up visual schedules, classroom rituals, and routines.
·      Use of technology including apps and websites unique, seesaw, little writer app, starfall.
·      Implement effective lesson plans for students that help them progress in their learning.
·      Collaborate with other teachers, professionals, administration, and parents.
·      Support special needs students who have Autism, ADHD, behavior disabilities, seizures, and other disorders with academic schoolwork, and behavior management.
·      Assist students in wheelchairs, transfers, students with mobility issues, and medical issues.
·      Help special needs students in regular classroom environment (mainstream) and pullout instruction.
·      Ride the special education bus, buckle students in, help them on and off bus safely.
·      Help students with personal cares, bathroom issues as needed, help with daily classroom cleaning.
·      Take notes for middle school students with learning disabilities and provide small group instruction.
·      Help special needs students create props, write, practice and perform a skit for history day project.
·      Support students with distance learning, provide online help with assignments.
·      Collaborate with team, communicate with teachers, staff, help with and complete any other teacher requested tasks.

Special Education Teacher

·      Support children who have disabilities to be successful in their JCC camp experience.
·      Help campers participate in group activities, modify activities as needed, and provide choices.
·      Provide one on one support to kids who have behavior issues, learning, developmental, and cognitive disabilities.
·      Provide support to camper with G-tube feeding, mobility issues, hearing issues, and bathroom needs.
·      Collaborate with Inclusion team, communicate with Camp Counselors, other Staff and parents.

Inclusion Facilitator

·      Teach children, young adults with disabilities, and family yoga class series.
·      Practice deep breathing techniques, yoga poses, positive affirmations, and guided relaxations.
·      Understand and follow the Yoga Calm guidelines, format, create and implement weekly lesson plans.
·      Incorporate games, journaling, art activities, and mindful snack.
·      Collaborate with parents and families, encourage student involvement, and student leadership.
