My name is Matthew Hobson and I am currently employed as a Sr. Analyst at a biotech investment firm (multi-strategy; $1.5-2B AUM), primarily leading diligence efforts and serving as a board observer on private biotech companies.

Earned a PhD in Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry under Prof. James Berger, studying enzymes involved in DNA replication and repair using a variety of biophysical and structural approaches.

- Sr. Associate at a venture capital firm with a biotech focus, leading scientific, market and financial due diligence (including valuation and ROI analysis) on prospective portfolio companies, structured credit and public equity investment decisions
- Led diligence on more than twenty five portfolio companies (and more investment declinations) across multiple sectors including drug discovery and development (oncology, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, ophthalmology, and rare disease, among others), AI-enabled technologies, diagnostics, and –omics tools
- Led analyst teams and presented investment opportunities to LPs, while serving on four company boards as an observer and served on the public equity risk committee
