Hi everybody! My name is Leanna Bonalba, My aspirations are to become a Software Developer, UI/UX Designer.

Currently, I am an Application Development student at YearUp, where I am developing the ability to code and develop solutions to online resources. Through Codecademy, I have gained several certifications that verify my skills to code in different languages and use of a variety of programs, such as:

Past jobs as a hostess, freelance video editor, and a caricature artist allowed me to gain strong interpersonal/communication skills, and customer service experience. The Digital Art & Design program combines problem-solving skills, planning and analysis with solid computer skills and traditional art making to create successful, clear visual communication. Students learn conceptual message development and fundamental theory while receiving vocational training. Courses such as typography and digital media form the core of the Digital Art & Design program. Students may choose from other courses in photography, film, video, graphic design, and animation to earn their degree. Students may pursue an Associate of Arts degree and prepare for transfer to a college, university or art school.

Napa Valley College

Artists draw customized portraits for clients in a timely manner. 
Manages sales and products through selling additional merchandise (i.e. frames, protective sleeves for artwork) and negotiating other add-ons.
Able to attract customers by promoting services and approaching others in a friendly manner.

Caricature Artist

Hostesses cover the front of the restaurant and coordinate reservations. Deal with the arrangement of seating and welcoming the customers in.
Bussers help with the arrangement of plating and servicing the customers with drinks and condiments. Bussers additionally help with maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and buffing dishes.

Hostess/Busser

• Practice and implement the use of JavaScript/Java, Bootstrap, Flex Box, HTML, Web Design, CSS, and Git/GitHub through live instruction and applied demos (400+ hours of training).
• Employ SQL to build tables, specify constraints, and apply indexes.
• Learn program concepts to build basic software programs; write and run unit testing to verify code.
• Gain competency in Visual Studio to write, build, execute and debug code.
• Incorporate basic knowledge in programing, application/web development, databases and software fundamentals.
• Utilize common management, editing, and conference tools such as Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Zoom.
• Communicate professionally over digital platforms by utilizing strategies, tools, and feedback to adapt to the environment.
• Participate in meetings by contributing to conversations and supporting with follow-up actions.
