Acute Care Nurse Practitioner ACNP

I have worked as a nurse for nineteen years. For the past fifteen years I have functioned as an advanced practice registered nurse in various settings such as diabetes management, gastroenterology, critical care, and foot/ankle surgery. I have been an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut in the nursing program. I am currently faculty at Lincoln Technical Institute teaching the licensed practical nursing program. I am enrolled at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and I am completing my post masters certificate in nursing education. My graduation date from Umass is August of 2024. Throughout all of my roles as a nurse my passion has remained teaching for patients, and students.

I function as nursing faculty in a licensed practical nursing program. My subject of expertise is medical surgical nursing, as well as professional development. I implement, design, and present curriculum. I monitor students success, and tutor students. In addition I teach a test taking strategies course for NCLEX preparation.
I am well versed in Powerpoint, and Canvas.

I functioned as an advanced practice registered nurse in an outpatient setting. I treated, diagnosed, evaluated, prescribed, and followed up with patients with various gastrointestinal conditions.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Functioned as an advanced practice registered nurse. I treated, evaluated, diagnosed, prescribed, interpreted x-rays for patients undergoing foot/ankle surgery, and urgent matters such as fractures.

Functioned as an advanced practice registered nurse in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I treated, diagnosed, evaluated, prescribed, interpreted continuous glucose monitors, operated insulin pumps for diabetics. There was a large focus on education of diabetic patients.
In the outpatient setting I managed patients with conditions such as thyroid disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and osteoporosis.

I taught medical surgical nursing to undergraduate, and students enrolled in an accelerated nursing program. I designed, implemented, and taught curriculum. I mentored students, and evaluated their outcomes.

Adjunct Nursing Faculty

I worked in a critical care neurotrauma ICU for a total of six years. Four of these years I functioned as a registered nurse, the remaining two years I functioned as an advanced practice registered nurse.
