Effectively operates Genxpert and BD Max to perform molecular microbiology testing to include COVID-19, RSV, and FLU A and B. ▪ Performs stat gram stain procedures in order to prep slides for Clinical Laboratory Scientists ▪ Performs various plating techniques to include urine plating, CSF plating, wound and sputum aspirate plating. Performs rapid kit testing for IFOB, C. DIFF and Fecal Leukocytes ▪ Performs stat and routine chemistry analysis using the Beckman AU, DXI and Access. ▪ Performs coagulation and hematology testing using Stago Coag and Sysmex hematology instruments. Sharp Memorial Hospital Per Diem December 2021- May 2022 ▪ Serves as Technician for chemistry, urinalysis, and specimen collection sections of the clinical laboratory. Monitoring QC and patient samples in order to respond effectively to providers. ▪ Adherence to Laboratory Procedures and protocols for specimen collection, handling and processing, patient preparation, labeling, handling, preservation or fixation, transportation and storage. Primary function is to assist Clinical Laboratory Scientists in a variety of functions including operating automated machinery, certifying testing, communicating to providers, performing correlations, calibrations. ▪ Serves patients by identifying the best method for retrieving blood samples and other specimens, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and performing screening procedures. ▪ Verifies patient identification and explains sampling procedures to patients.

Medical Laboratory Tech

Served as Technician for blood bank, chemistry, urinalysis, and specimen collection sections of the clinical laboratory. ▪ Performs type and screen as well as type and cross for blood transfusions. ▪ Proficient at hematology and coagulation testing, involving the use of Sysmex XN and Sysmex 650. Performs highly complex analyses of peripheral smears. Performs and calculates manual cell counts on body fluids. Performs coagulation testing to include prothrombin times; activated partial thromboplastin time, fibrinogen and D-dimer. ▪ Performed and monitored the performance of a wide variety of tests using the Vitros 5600 Chemistry analyzer. Recognizes, responds to, and troubleshoots error codes, conditions, and malfunctions of the analyzers by using manufacturer operator manuals.  Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticks.
