Hi, I'm Junyi Wei and I am excited to introduce myself to you. 

I am currently a PhD candidate at Math Department in University of Wisconsin, Madison, supervised by Prof. Yingyu Liang. My research focuses on theoretical machine learning, applying on traditional machine learning models and transformer based foundation models. In addition to the PhD degree, I also hold a MS in Computer Science degree from the same institution, where I gained practical experience in coding, algorithm and database. Previously, I received bachelor's Degree at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology where I was advised by Prof. K. Y. Michael Wong. In my undergrad, my research focuses on multi-agent networks, their corresponding SDE models and equilibriums. 

During my academic journey, I have had the privilege of working on theoretical and empirical projects in the area of Theoretical machine learning, foundation model fine-tuning and Large Language Models. These experiences have allowed me to develop a strong knowledge base in deep learning. I also got a chance to develop skills in problem solving, communication and collaboration. 

My math and physics background makes me thinking in a philosophical way, thus I'm able to see the whole picture and find the key path towards the goal in a short time. On the other hand, I gained executional skills by working through different projects, making me a down-to-the-earth problem solver. After the work, I usually spend time on the Chinese and India ancient philosophies.
