Colorectal Surgery

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Joseph Riad, I am a Colorectal surgeon and I am writing to you to express my interest in the colorectal position in your institution. I am double board certified in General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery. I have finished my Fellowship in Colorectal surgery at Mount Carmel Medical center in Columbus Ohio, then finished a second Fellowship In Advanced Colorectal Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I have worked as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at University of Central Florida and currently I am an Assistant Professor of Surgery at NYP/ Columbia University Medical Center.

In my current practice I am managing a wide breadth of colorectal pathology including oncology, IBD, benign disease, pelvic floor and anorectal disease, with main interest in Robotic and MIS surgery for colorectal cancer. I also have an interest in managing Rectal cancer especially with TNT and WW, which I acquired after my training at MSKCC. I am currently involved in General surgery residents’ training and teaching and also in teaching conferences and Tumor Board.

I have been working at CUMC as an attending surgeon in the Colorectal Division. My interest is in Robotic surgery MIS, colorectal cancer although my practice involved all aspects of Colorectal disease. I was involved in teaching the residents and fellows and in advancing our Tumor Board.

My position was an Assistant professor of surgery in UCF. I was involved in Residents teaching and training. My practice was 50% Colorectal surgery and 50% general surgery and it was focused on MIS and robotic surgery.
