Western Washington University

*   Support 5-13 teams (approx. 91 individuals) across the country by providing mentoring and training to ensure the successful completion of FEMA project assignments and aid the steady transitions to their future careers.
*   Work with Regional LNOs (liaisons), disasters and external stakeholders to identify the need for FEMA Corps team support.
*   Coordinate and collaborate with FEMA cadres, disasters and external partners to identify training teams may need for deployments and projects based on project type and responsibilities.
*   Maintain accurate records and documentation of programs, training, and tracking as appropriate. 
*   Manage relationships effectively with FEMA Corps teams, AmeriCorps staff, project POCs, and Regional staff.
*   Create and provide resources and coaching on how to manage a team and how to have a successful disaster deployment.
*   Monitor effectiveness of teams and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
*   Ensure that all projects and tasks fall under proper guidance while adhering to all organizational policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
*   Lead the Member Engagement Working group and support the Fast Track Hiring Working group.
*   Continuously assess and improve program processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
*   Create, present, and facilitate presentations as requested by HQ, Cadre, or Regional Offices and AmeriCorps NCCC.
*   Maintain situational awareness of predicted severe weather that may impact FEMA Corps teams.
*   Provide safety briefings and COAs as well as create daily roll-ups and other briefings as requested to provide regular reports and updates to superiors on operational tempo, outcomes, and challenges.
*   Send and maintain Deployment Tracking System (DTS) orders for FEMA Corps members and ensure DTS accountability procedures are being followed by FEMA Corps members.

FEMA Corps Liaison

*   Support 7 steady-state teams across the country by providing mentoring and training to ensure the successful completion of FEMA project assignments and aid the steady transitions to their future careers.
*   Create and update Service Project Request (SPR) form information for liaison and project POC awareness and use. 
*   Facilitate weekly check-ins with team leaders and their teams, create and provide resources as needed on how to have a successful steady state or disaster deployment. 
*   Support training during FEMA Corps Basic Academy and transitions, as requested by FEMA Corps Section.
*   Report team critical information requirements and provide safety briefings to leadership and teams to advise on appropriate COAs to ensure the security of teams. 
*   Participate in working groups for Fast Track Hiring and Member Engagement. 
*   Track accountability, send and maintain orders in DTS for FEMA Corps members. 
*   Support Regional staff and POCs with the creation of steady-state and disaster SPRs in addition to providing Regional LNOs with pre-scripted Service Project Request examples to expedite the DR request process. 
*   Manage relationships effectively with FEMA Corps teams, AmeriCorps staff, FEMA staff, and project POCs by sharing resources and best practices, answering programmatic questions, and suggesting solutions.
*   Maintain and update documentation as well as tracking forms as appropriate. 
*   Assist with collecting information related to continuous improvement and prepare recommendations and materials to share with leadership and stakeholders.

FEMA Corps Liaison Detail

*   Analyze Cadre performance to develop Net Growth Targets and communicate with Cadre Coordinators and other stakeholders, to support and manage Incident Management (IM) Force Structure to set and achieve targets that enhance disaster staffing. 
*   Serve as an analyst and project manager in collaboration with Field Operations Directorate (FOD) teams and Cadres to develop and implement changes to IM Force Structure and develop improved procedures and business processes. 
*   Lead qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on business process and policy improvements to improve the hiring, training, qualification, retention, and growth of the IM workforce.
*   Develop, track, and analyze reports to support force structure achievement to be utilized by Workforce Governance team members and FOD management. 
*   Support the overall Force Structure modification process and support the development of key briefings, policies, and procedures for senior leadership. 
*   Identity opportunities for greater operational and organizational efficiencies between Cadres FOD programs, OCHCO.
*   Conducted primary analysis, through engagement with complex datasets, and merged qualitative and quantitative data into feasible and actionable recommendations for Cadres to improve their qualification status across numerous programmatic areas. 
*   Successfully tailor messaging when briefing out on similar subject matter to distinct stakeholders.

*   Supported the American Red Cross (ARC) in mass care readiness projects and preparedness initiatives to ensure the protection and security of people and communities.
*   Created Excel spreadsheet to track potential shelter locations and managed pertinent information such as date of last survey, accurate coordinates, and up to date contact information.  
*   Contacted 200+ potential shelter locations to offer partnership and introduce the ARC shelter mission to support and promote third-sector cooperation in mass care initiatives set by FEMA’s Center for National Preparedness.
*   Researched, scheduled, and completed shelter surveys at congregate and non-congregate shelter sites in preparation for hurricanes, tornados, and other natural disasters. 
*   Assessed key shelter resources and characteristics, inspected the facility, ensured correct measurements in compliance with standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and FEMA’s Office of Civil Rights.
*   Ensured information in the National Shelter Survey (NSS) database was accurate for shelter locations and contributed to the information sharing process between the American Red Cross and public/private community partners.

FEMA Corps Team Leader

*   Built relevant and engaging nutrition education curricula in English and Spanish for 10 after-school programs across Onondaga county to empower and support youths in their communities where food apartheid is present.
*   Monitored a nutrition budget and tracked the inventory and use of materials to plan and develop projects to increase food security across the central New York area. 
*   Developed plans for resource tracking and management and completed accountability tasks, including compiling, and maintaining all necessary records, forms, and reports.
