My time in the Marine Corps placed me at the forefront of conflict and governance as well as technology. I worked with officers and enlisted to push and create policy around Avionics, Cryptography and Software for aircraft and communication systems like the F-18 and F-35. I traveled the world and experienced the many issues and problems faced both internally and externally by the Department of Defense in dealing with the rapid changes and advancements of technology. This experience created a desire to explore this more at even higher levels, which led to my time at Flagler college pursuing my degree in Political Science which was focused on technology and more specifically A.I. This was such an integral part of my passion that outside of full-time classes I completed a 50+ page research article which was peer reviewed and accepted for publishing on “Post-Digital Governance” or my current review and research on what the next ten years would look like in a world where the digital is not an add on but a fundamental. Through this paper I dove into the ethical and technical aspects of AI within democracy and this led to me giving multiple workshops to the professors at my very college on integrating and creating policy around AI within the higher education world. This was paired well with my company I founded, Van Clief Media, in which I started off with journalistic and freelance reporting in countries like Jordan, Palestine, Israel, Egypt and much of the United States. I also incorporated my knowledge of AI into this process in order to enhance and create voices for those without them. I also am the lead prompt engineer and executive officer in the startup Apotropia Solutions where I helped develop Eduba, a multiple agent group chat and document editing environment for academic research. Through these companies I have created policy guidelines for schools and business on dealing with Ai both academically and philosophically
