I'm a second-year Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Texas at Austin with a passion for integrating my mechanical, electrical, and biomedical background experience into a biotechnology-focused internship. With an interest in the clinical applications of neurotechnology and cardiovascular engineering, I strive to develop my knowledge and skillset in both research and industry.

Beyond the time I dedicate to the University of Texas' Solar Car Design Team, I am an avid enjoyer of all things art, and am constantly discovering new creative projects to take on.

Quality Control and Documentation:
  

*   Conducting visual inspections and functional tests on assembled devices to ensure they meet quality standards.
*   Managed thorough quality control, production, and inventory documentation.
*   Diagnosed and repaired devices with Return Material Authorization (RMA)

  
Assembly:
  

*   Specializing in the manufacture and quality control of pre-assembly components, such as optic camera assembly for lateral flow and immunoassay devices
*   Assembling, testing, and documenting lateral flow reader devices used for water treatment, forensics, and biomedical applications.
*   Operate manufacturing equipment and machinery such as 3D printers, Laser-cutters, and soldering irons to assemble lateral flow reader devices.

*   Preparing devices for shipment, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and tracking

Assembly Intern

Prototyping Variable Diameter Trocar Port:

*   Designed and prototyped a variable diameter trocar port using Solidworks (CAD) for use in laparoscopic surgery, designed to minimize patient trauma and enhance surgical precision.

Instrumentation Training:

*   Acquired hands-on experience with prototyping tools such as 3-D printing and laser cutting, as well as clinical devices such as bioartificial tissues and surgical instruments.

Engineering Documentation:

*   Created an engineering specification sheet to serve as a central reference point. The specification sheet facilitated communication between engineers and surgeons during the decision-making process and guided the prototyping and design requirements of the trocar port.

Collaboration:

*   Engaged in design review and collaboration with other engineers, medical professionals, and marketing professionals during the design process.

Skills Gained: Solidworks (CAD), prototyping, documentation, 3D printing, laser cutting.

Design Team

Parametric CAD Model Design

*   Designed and developed a sophisticated parametric CAD model aimed at streamlining the CAD process for belt and pulley systems for robotics.
*   This design increased the efficiency of CAD-related tasks within the ER4 division and was eventually adopted in the design process for a robotics team.

  
Robotics Chassis Design and Development:

*   Designed and developed a sheet-metal robotics chassis for testing the consistency of belt and pulley systems in contrast to traditional chain and sprocket systems.
*   Chassis assemblies were then used to test autonomous movement.

  
Lunar Terrain Vehicle:

*   Collaborated on the assembly of suspension and wheel modules of the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) project.
*   Repaired existing defects and wear-and-tear on the LTV, ensuring the functionality of the vehicle’s mobility system in preparation for a testing and data collection expedition.

  
Cable Enclosure Design:

*   Led the design efforts for cable enclosure and wire-harnessing solutions for the LTV.

  
Bomb-tech Workshop:

*   Prototyped, in collaboration with the Houston Police Department’s Bomb Squad, a fleet of remote-controlled vehicles with mesh networking capabilities to access remote and isolated structures from substantial distances. These vehicles were also equipped with data acquisition systems to return temperature and sensor data from within the target building to a control station from outside the building.
*   The design goal was to implement a system to access otherwise inaccessible spaces for use in emergency services.
