AI Based Road Inspection System for Mexico

I’m a filmmaker and data analyst passionate about exploring human intimacy and underrepresented communities, focusing on LGBTQ+ stories from around the world, in both fiction and documentary formats. 

I am interested in the role Artificial Intelligence and Data Science will play in human health.  

My work is character driven and based on emotional connections.

My filmmaking practice is that of a soldier, wonderer, voyeur, and server.

MFA in Filmmaking from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. The program emphasized both artistic vision and technical mastery, and provided me with opportunities to collaborate with a diverse community of storytellers. As a special edition to this MFA, I got to develop some of my curriculum in Asia. I've produced and directed short films and other projects in over 12 countries.

New York University

BA in Art from UC Berkeley. The program encouraged experimentation across media, and sharpened my ability to think conceptually while engaging with diverse artistic traditions. My time at Berkeley shaped my perspective as both an artist and thinker, and continues to influence my approach to filmmaking today.

University of California, Berkeley

*   Directed and produced over 30 commercials and in-house sales videos including Corporate, Promotional, Conference and Web-shows.
*   Managed client servicing for the duration of the project.

Producer

*    Taught the courses: Directing the Actors, Directing the Short Film, and Directing II to groups of 20-30 students.
*    Lead teams from development to post-production of the students’ first short film with a completion rate of 100%.
*   Taught Directing the Actors workshops which resulted in a retention rate of 100% of students.

Adjunct Professor

*   Served as teaching assistant for four courses: Advanced Cinematography, Commercial Production, Aesthetics and Screenwriting.
*   Secured 1 of 2 cinematography apprenticeships among a group of 30 student applicants. 
*   Managed and catalogued the work of 30 students per class. -Monitored the set-up of the stage/set before and after class and oversaw the completion of at least 10 cinematography projects per semester.

Teaching Assistant

*   MGI Gear Up is a program dedicated to advance gifted students in underserved high schools in New York city. 
*   Held study groups and one-on-one session with students of algebra, geometry, pre-calculus and calculus. 
*   Managed the after-school sessions with advanced calculus students.

Math Tutor

With support from the MacArthur Foundation and the Henry Luce Foundation, GroundTruth selected 13 fellows to tell narrative-driven, multimedia stories of migration and resettlement shaped by climate change, economic and social instability, war and famine, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The fellows will focus on resettled communities in Europe and North America, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Italy, the UK and the Netherlands.

Refugees and Resettlement Reporting Fellowship

This robust program provides invaluable hands-on filmmaking experience from project inception to completion. Participants are paired with mentors at the top of their respective fields, and receive personalized guidance to help move their projects and careers forward.
