My name is Dennis McCartney and I am a recently former physical education teacher and athletic director looking to make a career change. I have been an avid lover of all things sports as far back as I can remember. I currently still play multiple sports including ice hockey, ultimate frisbee, and water polo. I'm looking to take my experiences and knowledge and help make a positive impact on others.

Received my Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletics Administration to assist in furthering my knowledge and abilities as a coach and athletic director.

Managed all sports for the high school athletic department
- Interviewed and hired coaches
- Ensure all certifications were up to date for coaches and athletes
- Data organization for all necessary athletic clearance files
- Manage all calendar events for each facility for practices and games
- Host pre-season coaches meetings
- Attend all pre and post-season league meetings
- Coordinate with administration for supervision and disciplinary issues
- Manage each team's individual budgets

Athletic Director

Served as one of the school's physical education teachers:
- Develop lesson plans for instruction based on the California State Standards for Physical Education
- Collaborate with department for curriculum development
- Attend multiple Professional Development meetings throughout the school year
- Implement various lesson plans
- Assist in co-teaching for specific units
- Communicate with students and parents via email and in person
- Report to administration for observations and any disciplinary assistance as needed

Physical Education Teacher

Served as the head varsity coach for the girl's water polo and swim teams:
- Develop various training regimen for athletes to participate in (both in and out of season)
- Coordinate with boy's team head coach to share pool time
- Communicate with parents to provide expectation for the season
- Help organize transportation to away games and tournaments
- Ensure facility management for all home games
- Attend all pre and post-season league meetings
- Communicate with away team staff for any issues or changes that needed to be made in a timely manner.
