In my role as a Product Development and Production Manager at AKIRA/shopAKIRA.com, I managed all aspects of the shoe and outerwear department, from pre-production to delivery. I collaborated with all factories daily to ensure timely production and shipment of orders. I implemented new communication processes and enforced quality control standards. Additionally, I led pricing negotiations, worked closely with the sales team to update them on product availability, and partnered with the design team to create new product variations for specific account needs. In this role I was immersed in wholesale and dropship processes and became very familiar with accounts like Dillard’s, Nordstrom, ASOS and Von Maur.

Product Development & Production Manager

In this role, I led the sourcing of vendors and fabricators to ensure project timelines were met. I was assisting cross-functionally on each design team to put together procurement and design presentations while managing project budgets and resources to align with client needs. I collaborated with management to implement new procurement processes for improved efficiency and cost visibility.
Additionally, I connected with vendors for quotes, pricing, and negotiation of project deliverables. I gained knowledge and skill in international sourcing, local & national design firm partnerships while managing the firm’s Chicago and out of state projects. Senior Design Project Manager

This role required me to be a custom men’s suiting and Bespoke designer while managing an extensive client book and complex daily schedule. I was required to forecast selling and designs for each week to meet monthly and weekly sales goals. I oversaw the follow ups for all overseas and local vendors to ensure that orders were delivered on time and production was running smoothly. I provided exceptional customer service and problem solving for all client and business needs. I was known for my knowledge and education in all fabrics, notions, and trims to help inform each sale decision.
I attended networking events to expand client basis and to create lasting inter-business and personal relationships. I assisted with store maintenance, visual displays, marketing campaigns and merchandising. I was the lead designer on multiple photoshoots, social media posts and new seasonal collection curation. My design work has been featured in Modern Luxury Wedding Chicago, The Knot, GQ Magazine and Crain’s.
