*   Initiate, monitor, and terminate hemodialysis treatments for patients with CVC, AVF, AVG accesses
*   \-Treat critical patients 1:1 in ICU areas
*   \-Administer medications and IV antibiotic therapy
*   \-Maintain Hepatitis status protocols
*   \-Perform lab draws; including blood cultures and arterial/ venous blood gases with MD approval
*   \-Collaborate with vascular surgery regarding new/ maturing AVF and or access difficulty
*   \-Use BLS/ ACLS certifications to handle emergency situations

Acute Hemodialysis RN

*   Initiate, monitor, and terminate hemodialysis treatments for CVC, AVF, AVG patients
*   \-Administer medications (PO, IVP, IV, IM) as per MD order
*   \-Perform pre/post treatment assessments
*   \-Keep patients up to date on vaccinations and Hepatitis status
*   \-Maintain proper dialysis quality water through RO function checks
*   \-Weekly target weight adjustments or PRN
*   \-Access management

Charge Hemodialysis RN

*   Assign staff according to unit census and acuity                                                                                  -Documentation, consults, care plan updates, shower/skin assessments, pre/post dialysis notes, transfer/discharge notes
*   \-Handle any emergency such as codes, choking episodes, falls, etc.
*   \-Initiate IV access
*   \-Place orders for medications, lab tests, radiology, ultrasonography, cardiology, doppler studies and follow up with MD with critical results

Unit Manager RN

*   Administer morning and afternoon medications including PO meds, enteral feedings, injections, respiratory treatments, eye drops,
*   suppositories, enemas, inhalers, IV fluids/ antibiotics via PICC line or hep lock
*   \-Obtain and document vital signs
*   \-Perform wound care; Proficient in dressing changes including wound vac use; colostomy care
