Job Description

As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the buying team in sourcing and selecting merchandise for our stores.   1. Assist the buying team in sourcing and selecting merchandise for our stores.
  2. Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify new and upcoming fashion trends.
  3. Collaborate with the buying team to develop and implement buying strategies.
  4. Manage the product selection process, including reviewing samples, negotiating prices, and finalizing purchase orders.
  5. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and efficient delivery of merchandise.
  6. Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for restocking or discontinuing products.
  7. Work closely with the planning and allocation team to ensure timely and accurate distribution of merchandise to stores.
  8. Conduct regular store visits to gather feedback on merchandise and make necessary adjustments to buying plans.
  9. Assist in the creation of visual merchandising guidelines for stores to ensure products are displayed in an attractive and appealing manner.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitive landscape to inform buying decisions.
  11. Provide administrative support to the buying team, including organizing meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining records and documents.
  12. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment on buying strategies and goals.
  13. Uphold company values and standards, including promoting diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the job.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, representing Primark in a positive light to customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  15. Continuously seek out opportunities for personal and professional development to grow in the role and contribute to the success of the company.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business, Fashion Merchandising, Or A Related Field

  • 1-3 Years Of Experience In Retail Buying, Preferably In The Fashion Industry

  • Strong Analytical And Numerical Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Data And Make Strategic Buying Decisions

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Vendors And Internal Teams

  • Knowledge Of Current Fashion Trends And Market Trends, With A Keen Eye For Product Selection And Assortment Planning.
