- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of electrical substations to ensure safe and reliable operations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with substation equipment and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform repairs and replacements of faulty equipment to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations.
- Monitor and control substation equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning and prevent outages.
- Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute maintenance schedules and outage procedures.
- Follow company and industry safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and any incidents or accidents.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills.

Technical Knowledge: A Substation Tech Must Possess A Strong Understanding And Knowledge Of Electrical Systems, Including Transformers, Circuit Breakers, And Protective Relays. They Should Also Have A Thorough Understanding Of Substation Equipment, Including Switchgear And Control Systems.
Experience In Substation Maintenance: Previous Experience In Substation Maintenance, Construction, Or Operation Is Required For This Position. This Includes Experience With Testing And Troubleshooting Equipment, Performing Maintenance Tasks, And Adhering To Safety Protocols.
Electrical Certification: A Substation Tech Must Have A Valid Electrical Certification, Such As A Journeyman Electrician License Or An Associate Degree In Electrical Technology. This Certification Demonstrates The Individual's Knowledge And Competency In The Field.
Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Drawings: Substation Techs Must Have The Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Drawings, Including Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, And Construction Plans. This Is Essential For Understanding The Layout And Operation Of The Substation And Its Equipment.
