Senior Engineer, Systems Infrastructure

1. Design and implement complex IT systems and infrastructure to support the overall mission and goals of PPD.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and analyze business and technical requirements, and provide solutions that align with company objectives.
3. Develop and maintain robust and scalable systems to ensure smooth operation and high availability of critical applications and services.
4. Monitor and troubleshoot system issues, and provide timely and effective resolution to minimize impact on business operations.
5. Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations for their integration and implementation within the organization.
6. Lead and participate in the planning, testing, and implementation of system upgrades and new projects.
7. Ensure security and compliance standards are met by implementing appropriate controls and procedures.
8. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
9. Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, and negotiate contracts and service level agreements as needed.
10. Continuously evaluate and improve existing systems and processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
11. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations.
12. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on system performance, changes, and enhancements.
13. Proactively identify potential issues and risks, and develop contingency plans to mitigate their impact.
14. Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when necessary.
15. Adhere to company policies and procedures, and comply with all relevant regulations and standards.
