
EHS Specialist - Contractor Safety

- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for contractors in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with various departments to assess and address safety concerns and issues related to contractor activities.
- Train and educate contractors on safe work practices and procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and equipment.
- Investigate and report on any safety incidents or accidents involving contractors, and develop corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EHS regulations and standards to ensure compliance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and track contractor safety performance metrics, and provide regular reports to management.
- Work with procurement to ensure that contractors meet all necessary safety requirements before being hired.
- Conduct safety orientations for new contractors and oversee the completion of necessary safety training.
- Serve as the main point of contact for contractors regarding safety concerns or questions.
- Collaborate with the EHS team to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Stay informed about industry developments and advancements in EHS practices to continuously improve safety standards within the organization.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and provide guidance and recommendations for improving workplace safety.
- Conduct regular safety meetings with contractors to address any safety concerns and disseminate important safety information.
- Proactively identify potential safety hazards and work with contractors to develop and implement solutions.
- Act as a role model for safety by following all safety protocols and encouraging others to do the same.
Experience In Contractor Safety Management: The Ehs Specialist Should Have A Strong Background In Managing Contractor Safety Programs, Including Developing Policies And Procedures, Conducting Audits, And Providing Training.
Knowledge Of Ehs Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Ehs Regulations And Be Able To Apply Them To Contractor Safety Programs.
Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In Contractor Safety Management. The Ehs Specialist Should Be Able To Clearly And Concisely Communicate Safety Requirements To Contractors And Collaborate With Internal Stakeholders.
Attention To Detail: Contractor Safety Incidents Can Have Serious Consequences, So Attention To Detail Is Crucial In This Role. The Ehs Specialist Should Have A Keen Eye For Identifying Potential Hazards And Implementing Preventive Measures.
