Job Description

Pottery Barn is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Buyer to join our Furniture team. As an Assistant Buyer, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of a merchandise assortment that is reflective of Pottery Barn’s brand image. To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, or a related field, along with two years of experience in a retail buying or planning role. You should be driven, organized, and detail-oriented; possessing an understanding of the furniture industry and an eye for trends is essential.In this role, you will have the opportunity to make an impact on the Pottery Barn brand and help to create an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and execution of a merchandise assortment that is reflective of Pottery Barn’s brand image

• Monitor and analyze sales data and trends to ensure inventory is properly allocated

• Research and evaluate new furniture products and lines

• Coordinate with vendors and sales representatives to ensure timely delivery of product and accurate information

• Develop relationships with existing and new vendors to ensure competitive pricing and selection

• Assist in the selection and approval of item specifications

• Prepare and process purchase orders and invoices

• Track incoming shipments and manage inventory

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of product assortment and customer experience

• Develop and maintain vendor relationships and communication

• Maintain accurate records and documentation of product information and inventory management
