
Veterinary Technician Instructor

- Design and deliver engaging and interactive lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions to educate students on the fundamentals of veterinary medicine.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, course materials, and learning activities that align with program objectives and industry standards.
- Guide and mentor students in their academic and professional growth, providing individualized support and feedback to help them achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with program directors and other faculty members to continuously improve curriculum and teaching methods to meet the evolving needs of the industry.
- Stay current with developments and advancements in the field of veterinary medicine and incorporate them into the curriculum.
- Create and grade assignments and assessments to evaluate student progress and provide timely and constructive feedback to facilitate their learning.
- Monitor and maintain student attendance, academic records, and other administrative duties to ensure compliance with school policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school activities to contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for students, demonstrating professionalism, ethical behavior, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
- Build and maintain relationships with local veterinary clinics and industry professionals to facilitate student internships, job placements, and other opportunities for students to gain real-world experience.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe learning environment for students and staff.
- Uphold the values and mission of Pima Medical Institute and promote a positive image of the school within the community.
Education And Experience: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Veterinary Technology Or A Related Field, Along With At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As A Veterinary Technician.
Teaching Experience: Prior Experience Teaching In A Classroom Setting, Preferably As A Veterinary Technician Instructor, Is Highly Preferred.
Active Veterinary Technician Certification: Must Possess A Current And Active Certification As A Veterinary Technician Through The American Association Of Veterinary State Boards (Aavsb).
Knowledge Of Curriculum Development: Should Have Experience In Developing Curriculum And Lesson Plans For Veterinary Technician Training Programs, And The Ability To Adapt To Changing Industry Standards.
Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Teach And Interact With Students, Colleagues, And Industry Professionals.
