  1. Design and develop lesson plans and materials for medical assisting courses in accordance with the curriculum guidelines set by the institute.
  2. Conduct engaging and interactive classroom lectures and demonstrations to ensure students grasp key concepts and skills.
  3. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and techniques to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  4. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and promotes academic success.
  5. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their progress and performance in the course.
  6. Monitor and assess student progress through assignments, exams, and other evaluations.
  7. Collaborate with other instructors and faculty members to continuously improve the curriculum and teaching methods.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in medical assisting to ensure course content remains relevant and up-to-date.
  9. Mentor and guide students in their personal and professional development, including assisting with job search and resume building.
  10. Maintain accurate and organized records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.
  11. Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and administration regarding course updates, student progress, and any other relevant information.
  12. Adhere to all institute policies and procedures, including safety protocols and academic integrity guidelines.
  13. Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current in the field of medical assisting.
  14. Represent the institute in a professional manner and uphold its mission and values at all times.
  15. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the institute.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education And Experience: A Medical Assistant Instructor At Pima Medical Institute - Tucson Should Have A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Medical Assisting Or A Related Field And At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As A Medical Assistant.

  • Teaching Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience Teaching In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Vocational Or Technical School Environment. Experience With Curriculum Development And Instructional Design Is Also Highly Desirable.

  • Certification And Licensure: Candidates Should Possess Current Medical Assistant Certification (Cma, Rma, Or Ccma) And Hold A Valid State License, If Required. Additional Certifications, Such As Cpr Or Basic Life Support, May Also Be Preferred.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Instructor, Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Conveying Complex Medical Concepts And Building Relationships With Students. The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Colleagues And Adapt Teaching Methods To Meet The Needs Of Diverse Learners Is Also Important.

  • Passion For Teaching And Student Success: A Successful Medical Assistant Instructor Should Have A Passion For Teaching And A Strong Commitment To Student Success. This Includes A Dedication To Staying Current With Industry Developments And Providing Students With The Knowledge And Skills Necessary For Success In The Field.
