As a Unit Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our fast-paced and dynamic OR department.   1. Maintain accurate and organized patient records and charts in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
  2. Greet and assist patients, family members, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  3. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and surgeries in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  4. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
  5. Monitor and order supplies, equipment, and forms for the unit.
  6. Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  7. Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and managing paperwork.
  8. Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  9. Collaborate with other unit secretaries and staff to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
  10. Remain knowledgeable about hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
  11. Participate in unit meetings and trainings as required.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance the patient experience.
  13. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  14. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  15. Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  16. Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned by the unit manager or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education

  • Previous Experience As A Unit Secretary In A Hospital Setting, Preferably In An Operating Room Environment

  • Strong Organizational And Multitasking Skills, With The Ability To Prioritize Tasks In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Electronic Health Record Systems

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Healthcare Professionals, Patients, And Their Families.
