- Perform ultrasound scans on patients as requested by physicians or other healthcare providers.
- Follow proper protocols and techniques to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition and reporting any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
- Prepare patients for scans by explaining the procedure, answering any questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Position patients correctly and use appropriate techniques to obtain the best possible images.
- Monitor patients during scans and report any adverse reactions or changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Review and analyze images to ensure they are of sufficient quality for diagnostic purposes.
- Document all procedures accurately and enter data into electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Continuously educate and train oneself on advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and other technicians.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of patient care.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Comply with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist in the scheduling and coordination of ultrasound appointments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or department manager.
Completion Of An Accredited Ultrasound Technician Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Formal Education Program In Ultrasound Technology, Such As A Certificate, Associate's, Or Bachelor's Degree From An Accredited Institution.
Ardms Certification: The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) Certification Is Highly Desired For Ultrasound Technicians At Piedmont Healthcare. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Skill In The Field.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Candidates Should Have Experience Working In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting, Preferably In A Similar Role Performing Ultrasound Procedures.
Strong Technical Skills: Ultrasound Technicians At Piedmont Healthcare Must Possess Strong Technical Skills, Including The Ability To Operate And Troubleshoot Ultrasound Equipment And Perform Various Ultrasound Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Patient Care Skills: As A Healthcare Provider, An Ultrasound Technician Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, As Well As The Ability To Provide Compassionate And High-Quality Patient Care.
