Job Description

We are seeking a detailed-oriented and compassionate individual to join our team as a Trauma Registrar at Piedmont Healthcare. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the documentation and monitoring of trauma patients, ensuring accurate and timely data collection for quality improvement and research purposes.   1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date trauma patient records, including demographic information, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes.
  2. Ensure compliance with state and national trauma registry standards and guidelines.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare providers to collect and enter data into the trauma registry in a timely and accurate manner.
  4. Monitor and track trauma patients throughout their hospital stay, including transfers to other facilities.
  5. Review medical records and communicate with healthcare providers to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
  6. Conduct quality assessments and quality improvement initiatives related to trauma care.
  7. Participate in research projects utilizing trauma registry data.
  8. Provide education and training to healthcare providers on trauma registry data collection and documentation.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  10. Attend meetings and conferences related to trauma registry and trauma care.
  11. Stay updated on changes and advancements in trauma care and trauma registry standards.
  12. Assist with data analysis and report generation for internal and external stakeholders.
  13. Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards trauma patients and their families.
  14. Uphold Piedmont Healthcare's mission and values in all aspects of the job.
  15. Ensure timely and accurate submission of trauma registry data to state and national databases.
  16. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to trauma registry and patient care.
  17. Act as a liaison between the hospital and other trauma centers or organizations.
  18. Participate in on-call duties as needed.
  19. Maintain accurate and organized records of trauma registry activities.
  20. Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor or hospital administration.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.

  • Certified Trauma Registrar (Ctr) Credential From The American Trauma Society.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Trauma Registry Or Related Healthcare Field.

  • Knowledge Of Icd And Ais Coding Systems.

  • Strong Analytical And Organizational Skills, With Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
