  1. Accurately record and maintain detailed patient information, including demographics, injuries, treatments, procedures, and outcomes.
  2. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to collect and verify patient data.
  3. Utilize electronic medical record systems to enter and update patient information.
  4. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding trauma data collection and reporting.
  5. Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of trauma data.
  6. Communicate with external agencies and organizations to provide accurate and timely data for research and quality improvement initiatives.
  7. Participate in trauma program meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  8. Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology and coding systems related to trauma care.
  9. Identify and report any potential data discrepancies or errors to the appropriate parties.
  10. Assist with training and education of healthcare staff on trauma data collection and documentation.
  11. Stay up-to-date on changes in trauma data collection and reporting requirements.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and ensure the security of all patient information.
  13. Adhere to Piedmont Healthcare's policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance the quality of trauma care.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Trauma Program Manager or Director of Trauma Services.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Trauma Registry Standards: The Trauma Registrar Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of The Trauma Registry Standards Set Forth By The American College Of Surgeons.

  • Medical Terminology And Anatomy: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Anatomy Is Essential In Order To Accurately Code And Classify Injuries In The Trauma Registry.

  • Data Management Skills: The Trauma Registrar Should Have Experience With Data Management And Be Proficient In Electronic Medical Records Systems.

  • Attention To Detail: The Role Of A Trauma Registrar Requires Excellent Attention To Detail In Order To Accurately Collect, Analyze, And Report Data.

  • Certified Specialist In Trauma Registry (Cstr): While Not Required, Having A Cstr Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise In Trauma Registry And Is Highly Desirable For This Role.
