- Provide exceptional care and support to patients undergoing thoracic surgeries.
- Collaborate with thoracic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and assist with pre-operative preparations.
- Administer medications and perform medical procedures as directed by the supervising physician.
- Monitor and manage post-operative care, including wound care and pain management.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care instructions and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and optimal patient care.
- Stay up-to-date on current healthcare practices and participate in ongoing education and training opportunities.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during the surgical process.

Advanced Degree In Nursing Or Physician Assistant Studies: Candidates For This Position Should Possess A Master's Degree In Nursing Or Physician Assistant Studies From An Accredited Program.
Certification As A Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant: Applicants Should Hold A Valid Certification As A Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant From A Recognized Governing Body Such As The American Nurses Credentialing Center (Ancc) Or The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).
Experience In Thoracic Surgery: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Thoracic Surgery Setting Is Required For This Position. Candidates Should Be Familiar With The Surgical Procedures, Post-Operative Care, And Management Of Patients With Thoracic Conditions.
Strong Clinical Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Clinical Skills And Be Able To Perform A Wide Range Of Tasks Including Physical Examinations, Diagnostic Tests, And Minor Surgical Procedures. They Should Also Have A Strong Understanding Of Pharmacology And Be Able To Prescribe Medications As Needed.
Team Player With Strong Communication Skills: As A Member Of The Healthcare Team, The Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Will Need To Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals, Communicate Effectively With Patients And Their Families, And Work Well In A Fast-Paced Environment. Strong Interpersonal Skills And The Ability To Work As Part Of A Team Are Essential For This Position.
