  1. Conduct thorough evaluations of potential organ donors to determine suitability for organ procurement.
  2. Coordinate with hospital staff, medical professionals, and donor families to facilitate the organ donation process.
  3. Perform surgical procedures to recover thoracic organs for transplantation.
  4. Ensure proper preservation and transportation of donated organs to designated transplant centers.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all organ procurement activities.
  6. Collaborate with transplant teams to facilitate successful organ transplantation.
  7. Stay up-to-date on current organ donation and transplantation practices and regulations.
  8. Educate hospital staff and the community about the importance of organ donation and the procurement process.
  9. Provide emotional support and assistance to donor families during the organ donation process.
  10. Uphold the values and mission of Piedmont Healthcare in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards related to organ procurement and transplantation.
  12. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure timely response to potential organ donors.
  13. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve organ donation and transplantation processes.
  14. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with established protocols.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth within the field of thoracic organ procurement.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Another Related Healthcare Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Organ Procurement, Preferably In A Thoracic Specialty.

  • Certification As A Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (Cptc) Or Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (Cctc).

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of The Organ Donation And Transplant Process, Including Federal And State Regulations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Multidisciplinary Teams And Families During The Organ Donation Process.
