  1. Provide exceptional care to expectant mothers and their newborns.
  2. Utilize knowledge and expertise in labor and delivery to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  7. Educate patients and their families on post-partum care and newborn care.
  8. Follow all hospital policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  9. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with patients and their families.
  10. Stay up-to-date with current healthcare practices and advancements in the field of labor and delivery.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe work environment for patients and staff.
  12. Provide support and assistance to other members of the healthcare team as needed.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.
  15. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  16. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and trainings.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree Or Higher: A Staff Registered Nurse In Labor & Delivery At Piedmont Healthcare Must Possess A Bsn Or Higher Degree In Nursing. This Demonstrates A Higher Level Of Education And Knowledge In The Field, Which Is Crucial For Providing Safe And Effective Care To Laboring Mothers And Newborns.

  • Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License: To Be Considered For The Position, Candidates Must Have An Active And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Georgia. This Ensures That The Nurse Is Qualified To Practice Nursing And Has Met All The Necessary Requirements To Maintain Their License.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Labor & Delivery: At Piedmont Healthcare, The Staff Registered Nurse Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Labor & Delivery Unit. This Experience Provides A Strong Foundation In Caring For Women During Labor, Delivery, And Postpartum, As Well As Newborn Care.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications: As A Healthcare Organization, Piedmont Healthcare Requires All Employees To Maintain Current Bls And Acls Certifications. These Certifications Are Crucial In Providing Life-Saving Interventions In Emergency Situations That May Arise In The Labor & Delivery Unit.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Staff Registered Nurse In Labor & Delivery, The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team Is Essential. This Includes Doctors, Midwives, Doulas, And Other Nurses, As Well As Providing Education And Support To Laboring Mothers And Their Families.
