  1. Dispense and monitor medications to ensure safe and effective use by patients.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement comprehensive medication therapy plans.
  3. Conduct patient medication counseling and education to promote understanding and adherence to prescribed treatments.
  4. Review and interpret prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication records.
  6. Monitor medication inventory and order supplies as needed.
  7. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to pharmacy practice.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and medication management processes.
  9. Stay informed about new and emerging medications, therapies, and technologies in the field of pharmacy.
  10. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor while interacting with patients and other healthcare team members.
  11. Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians and other staff members.
  12. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the pharmacy department.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  14. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with industry standards and best practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Doctor Of Pharmacy Degree From An Accredited Institution: A Staff Pharmacist At Piedmont Healthcare Must Possess A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy Or A Doctor Of Pharmacy Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received The Necessary Education And Training To Perform The Duties Of A Pharmacist.

  • Active Pharmacist License In The State Of Georgia: The Candidate Must Hold An Active Pharmacist License In The State Of Georgia Or Be Eligible For Licensure. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Legally Authorized To Practice Pharmacy In The State Of Georgia.

  • Experience In A Clinical Setting: Candidates With Experience In A Clinical Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility, Will Be Preferred. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment And Handle Complex Medication Regimens.

  • Knowledge Of Pharmacy Laws And Regulations: A Staff Pharmacist At Piedmont Healthcare Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Federal And State Pharmacy Laws And Regulations. This Includes Knowledge Of Controlled Substance Regulations, Drug Recalls, And Medication Error Reporting Requirements.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For A Staff Pharmacist At Piedmont Healthcare. The Candidate Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Ensure Safe And Appropriate Medication Use.
