  1. Manage and maintain the scheduling system for the Outpatient Cardiology department.
  2. Communicate with patients to schedule appointments, procedures, and tests.
  3. Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate scheduling.
  4. Monitor and adjust schedules to accommodate urgent or emergent appointments.
  5. Verify patient insurance and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the scheduling system.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to streamline scheduling processes and improve patient flow.
  8. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  9. Follow all HIPAA and other privacy regulations when handling patient information.
  10. Assist with training and onboarding of new schedulers.
  11. Stay up-to-date on departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
  12. Participate in department meetings and provide input and suggestions for process improvement.
  13. Keep track of and report on key performance indicators related to scheduling efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to the Piedmont Healthcare values and mission.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration Or Related Field.

  • Excellent Organizational And Time-Management Skills.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Scheduling Appointments In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Cardiology.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Understanding Of Outpatient Cardiology Procedures.

  • Proficient In Using Scheduling Software And Electronic Medical Record Systems.
