- Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients in the Preoperative unit.
- Assess and monitor patients' preoperative status, including vital signs, medical history, and current medications.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Administer preoperative medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families about preoperative procedures, medications, and post-operative care.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort by maintaining a clean and organized environment in the Preoperative unit.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide timely and accurate updates on patients' conditions.
- Monitor patients' response to preoperative interventions and report any changes or concerns to the attending physician.
- Document all nursing interventions, patient responses, and care plans accurately and thoroughly.
- Serve as a patient advocate and ensure that patients' rights and preferences are respected.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain knowledge and skills related to preoperative care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to identify and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold ethical standards at all times.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during the preoperative process.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect patients' privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions as needed.
- Act as a mentor and resource for other nursing staff in the Preoperative unit.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in departmental projects and committees.
- Continuously evaluate and improve nursing practices to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Higher: A Candidate For A Rn- Preop, Prn Job At Piedmont Healthcare Should Have A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Higher From An Accredited Institution.
Current Rn License: The Rn- Preop, Prn Position At Piedmont Healthcare Requires A Current And Valid Rn License In The State Of Georgia. The Candidate Should Be In Good Standing With The State Board Of Nursing.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Preoperative Setting: Candidates Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Preoperative Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Surgical Center.
Acls And Bls Certification: As A Rn- Preop, Prn At Piedmont Healthcare, The Candidate Should Have Current Certifications In Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) And Basic Life Support (Bls).
Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: A Successful Candidate For This Position Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Think Critically In High-Pressure Situations. They Should Also Have The Ability To Work Well In A Multidisciplinary Team.
