  1. Provide respiratory care to patients with respiratory conditions, including performing diagnostic tests, administering treatments, and monitoring patient progress.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  4. Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
  5. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  6. Keep abreast of current trends and advancements in respiratory care and incorporate them into practice.
  7. Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate respiratory intervention as needed.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  9. Monitor equipment and supplies, troubleshoot issues, and report any malfunctions or need for replacements.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with developing policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
  11. Maintain professional competency by attending trainings, seminars, and continuing education opportunities.
  12. Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and respect towards patients and their families while providing care.
  13. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice in all aspects of patient care.
  14. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and promote a positive patient experience.
  15. Maintain a high level of professionalism and uphold the values and mission of Piedmont Healthcare.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid License: A Registered Respiratory Therapist (Rrt) At Piedmont Healthcare Must Possess A Valid License From The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc) And Be In Good Standing With The State Licensing Board.

  • Bachelor's Degree: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. This Ensures A Solid Foundation In Respiratory Therapy Principles And Practices.

  • Clinical Experience: Candidates Must Have At Least 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Acute Care Facility. This Experience Should Include A Variety Of Respiratory Therapy Procedures And Techniques.

  • Specialized Certifications: Piedmont Healthcare Values Rrts With Additional Certifications, Such As Certified Asthma Educator (Ae-C), Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (Nps), Or Adult Critical Care Specialist (Accs). These Certifications Demonstrate Expertise In A Specific Area Of Respiratory Therapy.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Rrts At Piedmont Healthcare Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members. This Includes The Ability To Explain Complex Medical Information In A Clear And Compassionate Manner.
