We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Flow Coordinator to join our team.As the Inpatient Flow Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and effective patient flow throughout our inpatient units. Your strong clinical expertise and leadership skills will be utilized to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges, as well as collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.To excel in this role, you must be a licensed Registered Nurse and possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting is also required, along with proven experience in managing patient flow and bed management processes.   1. Coordinate and manage patient flow throughout the inpatient units to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and resolve any issues that may impact patient flow, such as delays in admissions or discharges.
  3. Utilize strong clinical expertise to assess patient needs and make necessary recommendations for placement and care.
  4. Manage the bed management process, including patient assignments, transfers, and discharges.
  5. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure smooth and timely communication.
  6. Monitor and track bed availability and occupancy to optimize utilization and prevent delays in care.
  7. Facilitate the admission and discharge process by coordinating with various departments, including admissions, case management, and nursing units.
  8. Utilize evidence-based practices to improve patient flow and streamline processes.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  10. Mentor and educate staff on best practices for managing patient flow and bed management processes.
  11. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient flow and bed management activities.
  12. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures related to patient flow and bed management.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the delivery of patient care.
  14. Serve as a role model for professionalism, compassion, and patient-centered care.
  15. Maintain a positive working relationship with all members of the healthcare team to promote a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License: A Qualified Candidate For The Rn Inpatient Flow Coordinator Position At Piedmont Healthcare Should Possess A Valid And Active Rn License In The State Of Georgia. This Ensures That The Individual Has Met All The Necessary Requirements And Is Legally Authorized To Practice As A Nurse.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: Most Employers, Including Piedmont Healthcare, Require Candidates For The Rn Inpatient Flow Coordinator Position To Have A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn). This Degree Provides A Solid Foundation Of Knowledge And Skills Necessary For This Role.

  • Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Acute Care Facility. This Experience Will Help Them Understand The Complexities Of Patient Flow And The Challenges Of Coordinating Care In A Fast-Paced Environment.

This Knowledge Is Essential To Ensure Compliance And Provide Quality Care To Patients.
