  1. Provide safe and effective care to post-anesthesia patients during their recovery period.
  2. Monitor patient vital signs and assess for any signs of complications or adverse reactions to anesthesia.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  4. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and timely transition of patients from the operating room to the PACU.
  5. Create and maintain a comfortable and reassuring environment for patients and their families.
  6. Educate patients and families on post-operative care instructions and potential side effects of anesthesia.
  7. Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  8. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of infections and ensure patient safety.
  9. Communicate effectively with physicians, colleagues, and other healthcare team members to provide optimal patient care.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve nursing skills and knowledge related to PACU care.
  11. Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
  12. Follow all hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a high standard of patient care.
  13. Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude at all times, promoting a culture of compassion and excellence.
  14. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement plans for improving patient outcomes and quality of care.
  15. Act as a resource and mentor for new nurses and assist in their orientation to the PACU.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Georgia.

  • Current Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications.

  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (Pacu).

  • Strong Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Well Under Pressure In A Fast-Paced Environment.
