  1. Provide specialized care to neonatal patients in the NICU unit.
  2. Monitor and assess the health status of neonatal patients, including vital signs, growth and development, and response to treatments.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for neonatal patients.
  5. Educate patients and their families on proper care techniques and disease management.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  7. Utilize critical thinking skills to quickly assess and respond to changes in patient condition.
  8. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  9. Stay current on advancements in neonatal care and incorporate evidence-based practices into daily routines.
  10. Provide emotional support and comfort to families during difficult times.
  11. Participate in regular team meetings and provide input on patient care and unit operations.
  12. Assist in the training and development of new staff members.
  13. Adhere to ethical and professional standards of nursing practice.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  15. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and actively seek opportunities to enhance patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Rn License In The State Of Georgia: This Is A Crucial Qualification For Any Registered Nurse Position At Piedmont Healthcare. It Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Education And Training Requirements To Practice As A Nurse In The State.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Nicu Experience: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of The Specialized Care Needed For Newborns And Infants.

  • Bls And Nrp Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certifications Are Required For This Position. These Certifications Ensure That The Candidate Is Trained To Handle Emergency Situations That May Arise In The Nicu.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Is Preferred For This Position. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice, Preparing The Candidate To Provide Competent And Compassionate Care To Nicu Patients.

  • Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: Working In The Nicu Requires Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Education And Support To Families. Critical Thinking Skills Are Also Essential For Making Quick And Accurate Decisions In High-Pressure Situations.
