Job Description

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Labor and Delivery unit.   1. Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to expectant mothers and newborns in the Labor and Delivery unit.
  2. Support and educate expectant mothers and their families during the labor and delivery process.
  3. Monitor and assess patients’ physical and emotional well-being throughout labor and delivery.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Document patient information and maintain accurate medical records.
  6. Collaborate and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
  7. Remain up-to-date with current best practices and procedures in labor and delivery nursing.
  8. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  9. Provide emotional support and guidance to mothers and their families during this special time.
  10. Advocate for patient needs and participate in patient and family education.
  11. Monitor fetal heart rate and uterine contractions and take appropriate action.
  12. Assist with the delivery of newborns and provide immediate postpartum care.
  13. Respond to emergencies and provide prompt and efficient care.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to regulatory and accrediting agency standards.
  15. Serve as a role model and mentor to less experienced staff members.
  16. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  17. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards of nursing practice.
  18. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  19. Adhere to Piedmont Healthcare’s mission, vision, and values.
  20. Maintain a positive attitude and promote a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current And Unrestricted Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Georgia.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Labor And Delivery, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Current Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Certifications.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Well In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
