- Provide exceptional and compassionate care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, medications, and treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and maintain patients' medical equipment and devices.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Respond to and manage medical emergencies and changes in patients' conditions.
- Document accurate and timely patient information, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of best practices for patient care.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of patient care through ongoing education and professional development.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while providing care to patients and interacting with colleagues.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, addressing any concerns or needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for patients' rights and privacy.

- Act as a mentor and resource for new and less experienced nurses.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or other members of the healthcare team.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Registered Nurse In The Icu At Piedmont Healthcare Must Hold A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Educational Requirement Ensures That The Candidate Has A Solid Foundation In Nursing Theory And Clinical Practice.
Active Rn License: All Candidates Must Possess A Valid And Active Registered Nurse License In The State Of Georgia. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Requirements And Has The Knowledge And Skills Necessary To Practice Nursing In The Icu Setting.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Icu Experience: Piedmont Healthcare Requires Candidates For The Registered Nurse, Icu Position To Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Icu Setting. This Experience Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Unique Challenges And Demands Of Working In An Icu And Is Able To Provide High-Quality Care To Critically Ill Patients.
Bls And Acls Certification: Candidates Must Hold Current Certifications In Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls). These Certifications Demonstrate That The Candidate Is Trained In Life-Saving Techniques And Is Able To Respond To Emergency Situations That May Arise In The Icu.
Strong Critical Thinking And Communication Skills: As An Icu Nurse At Piedmont Healthcare, The Candidate Must Be Able To Think Quickly And Critically In High-Stress Situations. They Must Also Possess Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team And Provide Clear And Accurate Information To Patients And Their Families.
