Job Description

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Chemotherapy Infusion Nurse.   1. Administer Chemotherapy Treatment: The Chemotherapy Infusion Nurse will be responsible for administering chemotherapy treatment to patients as prescribed by the physician.
  2. Monitor Patient Vital Signs: It is the responsibility of the Chemotherapy Infusion Nurse to monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after treatment to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  3. Educate Patients: The nurse will educate patients on the chemotherapy treatment, potential side effects, and how to manage them.
  4. Record Patient Information: The nurse will accurately record and document patient information, including vital signs, medication administration, and any changes in the patient's condition.
  5. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: The Chemotherapy Infusion Nurse will collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members to ensure the best possible care for patients.
  6. Maintain a Safe Environment: It is the responsibility of the nurse to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients receiving chemotherapy treatment.
  7. Handle Medications: The nurse will be responsible for handling and administering chemotherapy medications following proper protocols and safety measures.
  8. Monitor and Manage Adverse Reactions: In the event of adverse reactions to chemotherapy treatment, the nurse will be responsible for monitoring and managing them appropriately.
  9. Provide Emotional Support: The Chemotherapy Infusion Nurse will provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during the treatment process.
  10. Stay Up-to-Date on Industry Standards: The nurse will stay up-to-date on the latest chemotherapy treatment protocols and industry standards to ensure the best possible care for patients.
  11. Adhere to Legal and Ethical Standards: The nurse will adhere to all legal and ethical standards in providing care to patients and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  12. Continuously Improve Processes: The nurse will be responsible for continuously evaluating and improving processes related to chemotherapy treatment to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Typically Required For A Registered Nurse, Chemotherapy Infusion Position At Piedmont Healthcare. This Degree Provides A Comprehensive Education In Nursing Principles And Prepares Individuals For The Complex Demands Of Administering Chemotherapy Infusions.

  • Valid Rn License: Candidates Must Hold A Valid And Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Georgia. This Ensures That The Individual Has Met The Necessary Education And Training Requirements To Practice As A Nurse And Is Legally Authorized To Administer Chemotherapy Treatments.

  • Chemotherapy Certification: Piedmont Healthcare May Require Candidates To Have A Chemotherapy Certification, Such As The Oncology Certified Nurse (Ocn) Credential From The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (Oncc). This Certification Demonstrates A Nurse's Specialized Knowledge And Skills In Administering Chemotherapy Treatments.

  • Previous Experience In Oncology Or Infusion Therapy: While Not Always Required, Previous Experience In Oncology Or Infusion Therapy Is Highly Desirable For A Registered Nurse, Chemotherapy Infusion Role. This Experience Provides A Strong Foundation In Chemotherapy Treatments And Protocols, As Well As Familiarity With The Unique Needs Of Cancer Patients.
