Public Safety Sergeant

1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the public safety department, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed effectively and efficiently.
2. Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by monitoring and addressing any potential safety hazards or security concerns.
3. Lead and supervise a team of public safety officers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality service delivery.
4. Conduct regular training and drills for public safety staff to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
5. Collaborate with other departments, such as nursing and facilities, to ensure a coordinated response to any safety-related incidents.
6. Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency responders to enhance the overall safety of the facility.
7. Investigate and report any safety or security incidents, including completing incident reports and conducting follow-up investigations as necessary.
8. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to public safety activities, including incident reports, training records, and equipment inventory.
9. Stay up-to-date on all relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to public safety and security.
10. Serve as a role model and mentor for public safety officers, promoting a culture of professionalism, integrity, and exceptional service.
11. Respond to any safety or security concerns or emergencies promptly and effectively, demonstrating strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
12. Participate in regular meetings and committees to provide input and recommendations for improving safety and security protocols and procedures.
13. Assist with the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
14. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and security standards and regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA.
15. Represent the public safety department in a positive and professional manner, promoting a customer service-oriented approach to all interactions.
