Procedure Support Technician - Operating Room

- Assist the surgical team in preparing and setting up the operating room for procedures.
- Ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and ready for use.
- Anticipate and fulfill any needs or requests from the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment in the operating room at all times.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation for procedures.
- Handle and dispose of surgical instruments and materials according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with nurses and other team members to ensure efficient flow of procedures.
- Utilize electronic health records and other computer systems to accurately document patient information.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during procedures.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the operating room.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings to stay updated on procedures and protocols.

Knowledge Of Operating Room Procedures And Equipment: A Procedure Support Technician At Piedmont Healthcare Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Procedures And Equipment Used In The Operating Room Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Surgical Instruments, Equipment Sterilization, And Infection Control Protocols.
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates For This Role Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In The Operating Room. This Experience Will Help Them Understand The Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment Of The Operating Room And How To Support The Surgical Team Effectively.
Attention To Detail: The Role Of A Procedure Support Technician Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail. They Will Be Responsible For Ensuring All Equipment Is Properly Sterilized And Functioning Correctly, As Well As Maintaining Accurate Records. Any Errors Or Oversights Could Have Serious Consequences For Patient Safety.
