Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Polysomnograph Technologist to join our team on a PRN (as needed) basis. As a Polysomnograph Technologist at Piedmont, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders in our patients. We are looking for a qualified individual who is passionate about improving the quality of life for our patients and possesses strong technical skills and attention to detail.   1. Perform overnight polysomnography (PSG) tests on patients to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
  2. Set up and calibrate equipment accurately, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
  3. Monitor patients during PSG tests, observing and documenting any abnormalities or changes in sleep patterns.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret and analyze PSG data.
  5. Educate patients on proper sleep hygiene and the use of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, test results, and equipment maintenance.
  7. Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
  8. Keep abreast of current trends and advancements in sleep medicine and technology.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions.
  11. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  13. Maintain inventory and order necessary supplies for the sleep lab.
  14. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  15. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
  16. Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of services provided by the sleep lab.
  17. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, as well as professional standards and ethics.
  18. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Polysomnography: Candidates For This Position Should Hold A Current Certification In Polysomnography From The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).

  • Experience In Sleep Medicine: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Sleep Lab Setting Is Required For This Role. This Should Include Experience With Conducting Sleep Studies, Scoring Sleep Data, And Performing Routine Maintenance And Calibration Of Equipment.

  • Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Sleep Disorders And Their Treatment, Including Knowledge Of Different Sleep Disorders, Diagnostic Techniques, And Treatment Options.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Prn Position, Effective Communication With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential. Candidates Should Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills.

  • Flexibility And Availability: This Position Requires A High Level Of Flexibility And Availability, As Prn Employees Are Expected To Work On An As-Needed Basis. Candidates Should Be Able To Work Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays As Required.
