Job Description

Are you a compassionate and caring individual looking for a rewarding job opportunity? Piedmont Healthcare is currently seeking a dedicated Patient Sitter to join our team on the night shift. In this role, you will provide comfort and support to patients who are in need of constant supervision. Your presence will not only ensure the safety of our patients, but also provide them with the reassurance and companionship they need during their stay.   1. Monitor patients: The main responsibility of a Patient Sitter is to closely monitor and observe patients at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
  2. Provide companionship: Patient Sitters are responsible for providing emotional support and companionship to patients who may be feeling anxious or scared.
  3. Respond to patient needs: It is the responsibility of the Patient Sitter to respond quickly and appropriately to any requests or needs from the patient, such as getting water, changing positions, or assisting with basic needs.
  4. Maintain a safe environment: Patient Sitters must be vigilant in identifying and addressing any potential safety hazards or risks in the patient's environment.
  5. Communicate with healthcare team: Patient Sitters must effectively communicate any changes or concerns with the patient's condition to the appropriate healthcare team members.
  6. Assist with basic care: Depending on the patient's needs, a Patient Sitter may be responsible for assisting with basic care tasks such as helping with meals, toileting, or grooming.
  7. Document observations: Accurate and timely documentation of patient observations and any changes in condition is a crucial responsibility of a Patient Sitter.
  8. Remain calm in high-stress situations: Patient Sitters must be able to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, including emergencies or challenging patient behaviors.
  9. Follow hospital policies and procedures: Patient Sitters are expected to adhere to all hospital policies and procedures regarding patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
  10. Participate in training and development: As a Patient Sitter, it is important to continuously improve and enhance skills through ongoing training and development opportunities provided by the hospital.

Job Qualifications
