  1. Perform accurate and efficient blood draws on outpatients in a timely manner.
  2. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper patient care and treatment.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and infection control protocols.
  4. Verify patient information and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service to patients by addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and healthcare providers.
  8. Keep accurate records of all blood draws and document any issues or inconsistencies.
  9. Stay up-to-date on all phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
  10. Handle difficult or anxious patients with empathy and professionalism.
  11. Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary supplies.
  12. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
  13. Follow all policies and procedures of Piedmont Healthcare.
  14. Adhere to all safety and quality standards set by the organization.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to providing the highest quality care to patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Valid Certification From An Accredited Phlebotomy Program Is A Must For This Role. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Training And Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Phlebotomy Procedures Accurately And Safely.

  • Experience: At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In An Outpatient Setting Is Preferred. This Demonstrates The Candidate's Familiarity With The Specific Demands And Challenges Of Working In A Fast-Paced Outpatient Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For An Outpatient Phlebotomist. This Allows Them To Accurately Identify And Label Specimens, As Well As Communicate Effectively With Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail: Outpatient Phlebotomists Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure That Specimens Are Collected And Labeled Correctly. This Is Crucial For Maintaining The Accuracy And Integrity Of Patient Samples.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary For This Role As Outpatient Phlebotomists Interact With Patients On A Daily Basis. This Includes Being Able To Communicate Clearly And Compassionately, As Well As Being Able To Handle Difficult Or Anxious Patients With Empathy And Professionalism.
