  1. Coordinate and facilitate the process of organ procurement from deceased donors, ensuring all necessary steps are taken to maximize donation opportunities.
  2. Work closely with hospital staff, transplant coordinators, and other healthcare professionals to identify potential donors and obtain consent for organ donation.
  3. Conduct thorough medical and social history screenings of potential donors to determine suitability for organ donation.
  4. Communicate effectively with donor families to provide information and support throughout the donation process.
  5. Collaborate with transplant teams to ensure timely and efficient recovery of donated organs.
  6. Follow strict protocols and procedures to ensure the safe and proper handling of donated organs.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all organ procurement activities.
  8. Educate hospital staff, community members, and other stakeholders about the importance of organ donation and dispel any myths or misconceptions.
  9. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in organ procurement to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
  10. Demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, and professionalism in all interactions with donor families and healthcare professionals.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards related to organ donation and procurement.
  12. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to organ donation opportunities in a timely manner.
  13. Assist in the evaluation and selection of potential organ recipients.
  14. Provide support and guidance to other members of the organ procurement team.
  15. Uphold the mission, values, and standards of Piedmont Healthcare in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License In The State Of Georgia.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Critical Care Or Emergency Department Nursing.

  • Certification As A Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (Cptc) Or Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (Cctc) Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Organ Donation And Transplant Regulations And Procedures.
